The set has two modes, the same two printed on the box. Pick whichever suits your space and how much energy your dog has that day.
Free Mode
Let the ball loose on open ground and your dog pushes, nudges and chases it on instinct, with no leash and no handler in the middle.
Just the inflated ball.
Attached Mode
Clip the bungee to a tree, then attach the ball or a cotton rope with the carabiner. Play stays in a smaller space, and your dog has resistance to work against.

An 18 inch inflatable herding ball built for high energy working breeds, plus a hanging bungee tug setup and two cotton tug ropes. The ball is for herding, pushing and chasing; the ropes take the chewing. Includes a 1680D polyester Oxford cover with bite handle, air pump, adjustable bungee with tree strap and carabiner, flat safety rope, repair patches, valve caps and pin puller.
